Situated in the courtyard of the Château, Le Crémant is a lovely old barn converted to a delightful two, double bed roomed gite. Unlike Chardonnay Cottage and Les Vignes, Le Crémant has no stairs to the bedrooms, and has been subtley renovated with consideration for people limited to a wheelchair, paying attention to ramped access and wide areas of movement in all rooms and doorways.
There is a large, light living room, accessed through the original barn-doors now a large French window style door. The room is airy and bright with exposed stone walls, exposed original oak beams, a terracotta tiled floor, and a lovely view of the courtyard through the patio doors. There is a six seating dining table, two three seating sofa’s, and English language satellite TV/DVD player. The kitchen is wide and airy with plenty of work-surfaces and fitted with modern amenities such as dishwasher, washing machine and floor-level fridge. The cooker consists of a low-level oven and electric hob. There is also a microwave, toaster and kettle, coffee machine, iron.
The bathroom is wide enough for wheelchair access and has a walk-in shower (wide enough again for wheelchair access if needed), and there are two hand-basins one fitted at a lower height suitable for the wheelchair bound or children.
The bedrooms are finished in antique pine style furniture and include double beds, chest of drawers and wardrobes. Both are large with plenty of room for wheelchair access beside the beds if needed.
In the courtyard, in front of Le Crémant, there is a dining area with teak table and seating for six (or more if needed) with a large parasol, and use of a barbeque. Guests of Le Crémant also have full use of the parc (garden) which along with the Château is considered a “national park” albeit private, there are areas for picnics and a small play area consisting of slide and swings for Children. There is secure parking in the courtyard and garage parking if required.
The name “Crémant” refers to the locally made white sparkling wine from Bourgogne (Burgundy), and Château de Saint Vallerin over-looks some of the vines that contribute to its production. Le Crémant is ideally suited for two couples or families of 4 or 5 with the use of a cot if required. An additional benefit is that the design took into consideration people with mobility limitations, so families who have a mobility challenged member, and therefore need easy wheelchair access, and fittings sympathetic to either someone who’s unable to tackle steps, or perhaps older and frail and prefers to use a wheelchair. Likewise, families with young children may prefer accommodation on one level and which opens up directly onto the outdoor courtyard.
The cottage is centrally heated.

"Well, were back in Canada. I just wanted to thank you for your hospitality during our stay at Chardonnay Cottage - it was a wonderful week spent in a very comfortable setting in a beautiful part of France. Our stay at your cottage was certainly one of the pleasant highlights of an enjoyable trip to France. Thank you again."
