St. Vallerin is a small village with less than 300 inhabitants. There is an excellent boulangere and patisserie just situated outside the gates of the Chateau, where the aroma of freshly baked bread and croissants drifts over to us early in the mornings.

At Chateau de Saint Vallerin, we offer a relaxed setting where you can dine in the courtyard or on the front terrace looking over the garden. For breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or wine and cheese supper. We can offer meals to accommodate your needs. Our resident chef will be happy to speak with you and prepare something for your return at the end of the day, if you require. Children’s menu’s are available and refreshments for your pets.

We have a fishmonger and cheese seller visit the village weekly and because we are on the route de vins, there are always many visitors calling by.

St. Vallerin is just five minutes drive from Buxy – a popular small town that accommodates all of our needs. For example, there are supermarkets, butchers, newsagents, hairdressers, beauty salon and a launderette/dry cleaners. There are bars, cafes and restaurants too. Also there are four doctors, a dentist and a vet.

On route to Buxy from St. Vallerin is a small pizza house that serve very good home made pizzas to suit everyone’s palate.

There is an Office du Tourism, which is situated at the beginning of a specially developed cycle track, which offers abundant information on the region.

Thursday morning is market day in Buxy where local farmers sell their fresh fruit and vegetables amongst other stalls.
